If you are not already a paid CFBRAA member I want to encourage you to become one.
Our association is doing good things and helping out many with special needs and scholarships.
We aren't doing as much as we would like to do and not as much as one would expect, especially if you or someone you are close to are in need of financial help.
We are limited by the funds we have available, so what we can do is modest compared to the needs.

Here is what we were able to accomplish this year with less than 300 paid members:
1. Helped 15 families in crisis situations, providing medical help, housing, utilities, clothing, etc. You provided nearly $11K in crisis support to families.
2. Helped 9 alumni families send their children to college, providing $6K in scholarship assistance.
3. Helped scores of new alumni with transportation, providing $4K for vehicle maintenance and fuel for the Alumni Support Center.
4. Provided $500 to the residents of the Alumni Support Center to help with Christmas presents for their families.
5. Provided $500 to the homes at BR as awards for the Christmas Contest winners.

Alumni Web Site

Alumni Web Site

Postby Tiny » Tue Jun 27, 2017 6:37 am

I don't post very often and I have gotten busy and life changes is also a factor to my life these days. I thought originally that the alumni web site was a means of keeping people in the know of events and news. I don't do facebook and so the web site was the place I found out things when it was updated....

A while back I read that a new and improved alumni web site was coming online and the current alumni site would be phased out. https://cfbraa.memberclicks.net/mc/page.do?orgId=cfbraa So then this happens with the new and improved web site.

A lot of arm chair experts chime in about the faults of the alumni and efforts to become unified and better organized. I paid my dues unconditionally for over 10 plus years and briefly held a position on the alumni board. For me I am about the details as I believe that details are what mold the whole thing together. So if those on the board can't even update the web site and or pay the bills to have a web site then it tells me that this isn't important.

I find the whole deal ironic because one person is up trying to get us alumni to join in and yet it seems others use the position as a political stepping stone to remind exes of the past with the positions they hold. No names necessary to be mentioned as this is my own view and or assumption and I could be wrong. But whatever the case I've stopped paying my dues because the warm fuzzy I used to have isn't with me anymore.

Tiny, thanks for the info. I have not used the new web site so I was unaware of this situation. It appears the old web site http://www.calfarleysboysranchalumni.org/ is still working.

Good to hear from you. I hope all is well with you and yours.

We don't get much activity here anymore because most are on Facebook now. But I keep this one going for anyone who is looking to reconnect and there is a lot of historical stuff here from our stories over the years.

Jerry,
I am doing ok and have had some struggles and I am raddling and still rolling and this is a good thing today. Fond memories of my visit to SoCal some years ago. Hope all is well on your end and you are keeping busy.

Good to hear from you. All is fairly well here. I am still recovering for a knee replacement in Dec, but that is getting better each day. We packed a lot into a few days on that Ca visit. I enjoyed it.

Hope all had a great 4th of July?
Memories of our trip to the Reagan Museum was really a nice experience.

Spoke with Rob the other day and he has moved from the Houston metro area and so calling him is the best way to communicate as he is limited on resources for now.

Knees...... yes I know recovery is a rascal and I know my weight is as well and so it is a balancing act and hopefully you'll be out on the court at Venice beach showing them that 'white men can jump"

Be well and stay safe.
