If you are not already a paid CFBRAA member I want to encourage you to become one.
Our association is doing good things and helping out many with special needs and scholarships.
We aren't doing as much as we would like to do and not as much as one would expect, especially if you or someone you are close to are in need of financial help.
We are limited by the funds we have available, so what we can do is modest compared to the needs.

Here is what we were able to accomplish this year with less than 300 paid members:
1. Helped 15 families in crisis situations, providing medical help, housing, utilities, clothing, etc. You provided nearly $11K in crisis support to families.
2. Helped 9 alumni families send their children to college, providing $6K in scholarship assistance.
3. Helped scores of new alumni with transportation, providing $4K for vehicle maintenance and fuel for the Alumni Support Center.
4. Provided $500 to the residents of the Alumni Support Center to help with Christmas presents for their families.
5. Provided $500 to the homes at BR as awards for the Christmas Contest winners.

You can also help by becoming involved in a committee or subcommittee, starting up a gathering in your area, helping with the Veterans Memorial project or with the Annual Reunion activities at Rodeo, or even letting us know about your ideas and suggestions. Don‘t be offended, insulted or upset if your idea or suggestion is not implemented. But, be assured, it will be considered and discussed. We need your help, we need your ideas about how to make us a stronger organization better able to serve you and we need you.

One of CFBRAA membership goals this year is to reach an active paid membership of 500. One strategy from the Membership Committee was to promote a pay it forward campaign. That is for each paid member to find and recruit a new member and, if necessary, pay that members first year membership dues of $20. Then the new member could recruit a new member and, if necessary, pay that members first years dues. This would definitely generate a sustained membership growth and increased revenues to the association.

Membership eligibility is found in the CFBRAA Bylaws

Section 1: Voting Membership
Any boy, girl, or staff child who resided at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch or Girlstown USA, who has paid his or her annual dues is entitled to membership in Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch Alumni Association.

Section 2: Associate Membership
Any current or former employee of Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch or Girlstown who has paid his or her annual dues is entitled to membership in the Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch Alumni
Association as an Associate Member.

Any current Director or former Director of Cal Farley’s Inc who has paid his or her annual dues is entitled to membership in the Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch Alumni Association as an Associate Member. An Associate member is entitled to all the benefits as a Voting Member except the right to vote or serve as a director or officer of the Association.

In recognizing the contribution and support of family members and their value to the association, the Membership Committee recommended this amendment to the Bylaws and it was approved by the BOD.

Recently added by amendment:
The brother, sister, son, daughter, step-son, step-daughter, spouse, grandson, granddaughter, step-grandson or step-granddaughter of any boy, girl, or staff child who resided at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch or Girlstown USA, who has paid their annual dues, is entitled to membership in the Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch Alumni Association as a Family Associate Member. A Family Associate member is entitled to all the benefits as an Associate Member.
