Site Announcements

If you are not already a paid CFBRAA member I want to encourage you to become one.
Our association is doing good things and helping out many with special needs and scholarships.
We aren't doing as much as we would like to do and not as much as one would expect, especially if you or someone you are close to are in need of financial help.
We are limited by the funds we have available, so what we can do is modest compared to the needs.

Here is what we were able to accomplish this year with less than 300 paid members:
1. Helped 15 families in crisis situations, providing medical help, housing, utilities, clothing, etc. You provided nearly $11K in crisis support to families.
2. Helped 9 alumni families send their children to college, providing $6K in scholarship assistance.
3. Helped scores of new alumni with transportation, providing $4K for vehicle maintenance and fuel for the Alumni Support Center.
4. Provided $500 to the residents of the Alumni Support Center to help with Christmas presents for their families.
5. Provided $500 to the homes at BR as awards for the Christmas Contest winners.

Looking for ex Aills people and grads from 1966

Postby dwago40479 » Fri Oct 23, 2009 10:00 am

Just looking to see if I can find some of the guys I used to live with back in 1962-66 from Aills Dorm, and the ones I graduated with in 1966. Just curious on how everyone turned out. If anyone knows of anyone who might have passed away I would like to know that also. My Email address is dwago40479@aol.com. Thanks alot. Don Wagoner

Hey Don,

Tom Weissinger here. I was a little ahead of the '66 time you asked about. Likely, you will have to give some names to maybe learn anything. I''ll give any info I can, if I have any at all about anyone you are looking for.

I remember you Tom. Can't remember which dorm you were in but if I remember right you were a Jr Staff member. For some reason I want to put you as helping out in either Frying Pan or Carter homes. Oh well nice to hear from you.

Now, Don, you should certainly remember me. We arrived at BR the same day and were driven to BR by Louie Hendricks. Your SR year I was in 9th grade and we had Spanish in the same class.

Many of those Aills guys you knew were Anderson guys not long after you left. Aills was torn down and Fischer was built on the site. We moved out of Jim Hill and into Fischer in September 68.

Tommy Alverez is on the Alumni Board of Directors. I saw the Beckmans in Nebraska a few years ago, and enjoyed hearing Helen's dealings as an alumna (the very first) of BRHS.
