If you are not already a paid CFBRAA member I want to encourage you to become one.
Our association is doing good things and helping out many with special needs and scholarships.
We aren't doing as much as we would like to do and not as much as one would expect, especially if you or someone you are close to are in need of financial help.
We are limited by the funds we have available, so what we can do is modest compared to the needs.

Here is what we were able to accomplish this year with less than 300 paid members:
1. Helped 15 families in crisis situations, providing medical help, housing, utilities, clothing, etc. You provided nearly $11K in crisis support to families.
2. Helped 9 alumni families send their children to college, providing $6K in scholarship assistance.
3. Helped scores of new alumni with transportation, providing $4K for vehicle maintenance and fuel for the Alumni Support Center.
4. Provided $500 to the residents of the Alumni Support Center to help with Christmas presents for their families.
5. Provided $500 to the homes at BR as awards for the Christmas Contest winners.

Willetta March BR Librarian

Postby Jeff Mitchell » Tue Jan 31, 2012 1:13 pm

From: Frances Waldrip

We just received word that Willetta March, former Blakemore Librarian, passed away today.
She had major surgery last week and was doing fine, but her heart just stopped, they said.
I will let you know more, when I hear.

Norma Willetta March, age 76, of Amarillo, went to be with our Lord and Savior on the 31st of January, 2012.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Corky Holland officiating. Graveside service and burial will follow at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Norma was born Nov. 19, 1935, in Amarillo, with early years spent in Clarendon and high school graduation from Amarillo. Willetta attended West Texas A&M University and earned both a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in education and was classroom teacher and later librarian for St. Andrews, Amarillo Independent School District and Boys Ranch schools. Willetta was passionate about growing the mind and heart through reading and the love of books. A lover of all things Panhandle, she especially enjoyed artists, musicians and the theatre. Later years found her travelling new destinations with both old and new friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, Will Adam (W.A.“Bill”) and Lillian (Norris) Riney; along with husband, Charles March.

She is succeeded by Cynthia Lynn Johnson (Amarillo), William David and Tracey Johnson (Montgomery, Texas), Dale Kurt and Shelley Bird-Johnson (Bartlesville, Okla.), Alan Daniel and Amie Johnson (Taos, N.M.), husband Carl Johnson (Amarillo); and grandchildren, Berkley Kristina, Joshua Taylor, Christopher Ryan, Bethany Kirsten and Jordan Christine.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX, 79174.
