If you are not already a paid CFBRAA member I want to encourage you to become one.
Our association is doing good things and helping out many with special needs and scholarships.
We aren't doing as much as we would like to do and not as much as one would expect, especially if you or someone you are close to are in need of financial help.
We are limited by the funds we have available, so what we can do is modest compared to the needs.

Here is what we were able to accomplish this year with less than 300 paid members:
1. Helped 15 families in crisis situations, providing medical help, housing, utilities, clothing, etc. You provided nearly $11K in crisis support to families.
2. Helped 9 alumni families send their children to college, providing $6K in scholarship assistance.
3. Helped scores of new alumni with transportation, providing $4K for vehicle maintenance and fuel for the Alumni Support Center.
4. Provided $500 to the residents of the Alumni Support Center to help with Christmas presents for their families.
5. Provided $500 to the homes at BR as awards for the Christmas Contest winners.

Henry and Deann Honea's son, Russell Honea

To Memorialize Our Family. Post here to report the passing of anyone in our family and memories of their life.

Henry and Deann Honea's son, Russell Honea

Postby Jerry Nicholson » Thu Feb 02, 2012 10:40 am

I received this from Frances Waldrip this morning.

We just received this from our Sunday School Teacher. Please be in prayer for the Honeas.

Wayne Cope just called to say that Henry and Deann's 44 year old son had a massive heart attack and died last night. Henry was here and Deann will catch a flight home at 10:00 this morning. This was their only child. Please pray for the Honeas as they mourn the loss of their son and pray for the son's wife and daughter.

Russell Honea, 44, of Amarillo died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Canyon with Charlie Cox officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Russell was born May 11, 1967, in Amarillo to Henry and Deann Honea. He attended Canyon Junior High and Canyon High School and was a 1984 graduate of Amarillo High School. He was a lifelong resident of Amarillo.

Russell served his country in the Marine Corps. He married Pam Anthony on April 2, 1990, in Amarillo. He worked in law enforcement in Amarillo for more than 20 years. During the past nine years, he worked for Potter County Sheriff’s Department. He was an Insurance salesman for Farm Bureau since October.

Russell loved his Lord, his family and life. He was a member of Palo Duro Cowboy Church. He had a zeal for life and a great
passion for everything in which he was involved.

He loved being involved in everything his daughter was doing in her world, especially rodeo. He loved riding motorcycles and was an active member and road
captain of Harley Owner’s Group, HOG, in Amarillo. He loved team roping and was a member of Will Rogers’ Range Riders. He learned to shoot pool as a little boy and was on the team that won a national championship in 1997.

Everything he did in life, he gave 100 percent. Most of all, he loved being a husband, a dad, a son and a friend.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Martha Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Pam of Amarillo; a daughter, Kayla of Amarillo; a brother, Rick Humphrey and wife Jamie of Amarillo; his parents, Henry and Deann Honea of Amarillo; his mother-in-law, Ginger McDonald and husband Jim of North Bend, Ore.; two brothers-in-law, Steve Anthony and wife Susan and Mike Anthony and wife Liz; a sister-in-law, Jackie Odom and husband Greg; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jerry, do you have any contact information on Henry? Last I heard, he was living in a town south of Amarillo but I don't remember which one. We were good friends at the Ranch but just lost contact. So sorry to hear of his loss ... especially difficult with loss of a child. I would like to let he and his wife know they are in our prayers and to make contact with him. Your help will be appreciated. Thanks, Danny
