If you are not already a paid CFBRAA member I want to encourage you to become one.
Our association is doing good things and helping out many with special needs and scholarships.
We aren't doing as much as we would like to do and not as much as one would expect, especially if you or someone you are close to are in need of financial help.
We are limited by the funds we have available, so what we can do is modest compared to the needs.

Here is what we were able to accomplish this year with less than 300 paid members:
1. Helped 15 families in crisis situations, providing medical help, housing, utilities, clothing, etc. You provided nearly $11K in crisis support to families.
2. Helped 9 alumni families send their children to college, providing $6K in scholarship assistance.
3. Helped scores of new alumni with transportation, providing $4K for vehicle maintenance and fuel for the Alumni Support Center.
4. Provided $500 to the residents of the Alumni Support Center to help with Christmas presents for their families.
5. Provided $500 to the homes at BR as awards for the Christmas Contest winners.

Dale was born December 29, 1933, to Pat and Billy Edwards in Amarillo. As a teenager, he accepted Christ as his Savior. On April 3, 1953, he married the lovely Betty Jo Bacot. Dale was one of several that helped build the Channing Fire Station and the Channing Volunteer Fire Department. He served as Fire Chief for over 30 years and served on the Channing Independent School Board for several years. He worked for Boys Ranch for 22 1/2 years, teaching heavy equipment, driving the truck for town runs and hauling livestock for parades and stock shows for the boys. Dale was Pickup Man during the Boys Ranch rodeo until he left to operate his own truck. He ran the maintainer for Precinct 2 Hartley County, blading roads from 1981 until retiring in 2000 due to health reasons. Dale was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed helping others until his health no longer allowed him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Houston Eugene Edwards.

Dale is survived by wife Betty of the home; three children: Rodney Edwards of Channing, Rohnda Poteet of San Antonio, Renee Mason of Lowell, Arkansas; five grandsons: Roger Elliott, Will Maupin and wife Tracy, Brad Poteet, Dustin Maupin and wife Stephanie, Phillip Mason and wife Emily; six great grand children: Haylee Maupin, Laycee Maupin, Kynlee Maupin, Jack Maupin, Peyton Poteet and Jade Mason; three sisters: Opal Wood of Midland, Lerlene Goodwin of Hobbs, and Florene and husband Bill Plummer of Paris, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggest memorials be to Boys Ranch, PO Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174-0001, Channing Cemetery, Box 204, Channing, TX 79018, Channing Volunteer Fire Dept, or XIT Building.

It is good to know about these events alsthough I have to be honest and say I have no clue who Mr. Edwards was or what his function was at BR? Ex-rancher or staff? I mean outside of RIP that is all I can contribute.

Just a thought for future follow up from Mrs Waldrip since she is so gracious in providing this information to many outlets outside of FB.
Do the right thing. It will gratify some people and astonish the rest.

Oh staff member and I remember that name now looking back but I never remember meeting him.
