If you are not already a paid CFBRAA member I want to encourage you to become one.
Our association is doing good things and helping out many with special needs and scholarships.
We aren't doing as much as we would like to do and not as much as one would expect, especially if you or someone you are close to are in need of financial help.
We are limited by the funds we have available, so what we can do is modest compared to the needs.

Here is what we were able to accomplish this year with less than 300 paid members:
1. Helped 15 families in crisis situations, providing medical help, housing, utilities, clothing, etc. You provided nearly $11K in crisis support to families.
2. Helped 9 alumni families send their children to college, providing $6K in scholarship assistance.
3. Helped scores of new alumni with transportation, providing $4K for vehicle maintenance and fuel for the Alumni Support Center.
4. Provided $500 to the residents of the Alumni Support Center to help with Christmas presents for their families.
5. Provided $500 to the homes at BR as awards for the Christmas Contest winners.

update of alumni we have lost

Postby Tom Weissinger » Wed Nov 13, 2013 7:57 pm

Is there anyone updating the alumni we have lost? I thank Lanny for all the work he put into the list from 2010, It has been three more years and there are very likely many others who have passed and are not on the list. Just reviewing this section shows quite a few just this year already. If no one is working on it is there any way I could obtain the info and update it myself. I went through the 2010 list again before posting this and found many that I knew and had a moment or two remembering them from Charles Ails through Ronnie Wallen. Some of the ones I knew had hard lives after leaving the ranch, but I remembered them as I knew them, not as they became.

That might be getting done by Cheree Gilliam although I am not sure and maybe it should be more of an alumni function as they receive some of the first hand news if exes and or staff pass on.
Do the right thing. It will gratify some people and astonish the rest.

Not a problem then. Just noticed it had been four years since the last update. The latest alum newsletter had several more exes listed in it that we lost lately.

I spoke with him a few months back and he was having some problems with his computer and hard drives where info is stored.
