If you are not already a paid CFBRAA member I want to encourage you to become one.
Our association is doing good things and helping out many with special needs and scholarships.
We aren't doing as much as we would like to do and not as much as one would expect, especially if you or someone you are close to are in need of financial help.
We are limited by the funds we have available, so what we can do is modest compared to the needs.

Here is what we were able to accomplish this year with less than 300 paid members:
1. Helped 15 families in crisis situations, providing medical help, housing, utilities, clothing, etc. You provided nearly $11K in crisis support to families.
2. Helped 9 alumni families send their children to college, providing $6K in scholarship assistance.
3. Helped scores of new alumni with transportation, providing $4K for vehicle maintenance and fuel for the Alumni Support Center.
4. Provided $500 to the residents of the Alumni Support Center to help with Christmas presents for their families.
5. Provided $500 to the homes at BR as awards for the Christmas Contest winners.

"Semper Fidelis".
You can join the Army, you can join the Navy and you can join the Air Force but, you BECOME a Marine!
Having earned the title of Marine it becomes a integral part of who and what we will become later in life.

Since Lamont Waldrip is in the picture, could this be a pix of Veigel or Edwards guys in intramural sports?

That was Marvin Hall next to me. Marvin and Jimmy (James) Hall were brothers. James Hall had one good arm. (If I am not compeatly senile.)I am thinking that these guys were the grade school basket ball team. I was the manager for both the 7th grade and the 8th grade teams in 1956-57 basketball and football season. I was not good enough to make the 8th grade team.
We had a grade school team (7th grade) and a Jr. High (8th grade team) When we played , both teams would play the same day at the same places.

On the 8th grade team was Stanley Lawley, Bob Martinez, Mike Koprin, Joe Hewlett, Tommy Knowles, Marvin George (In my opinion was the best ball handlers we had at the time.) James Hall was moved up to the 8th grade sports because of his age along with Bob Dillard . They played on the 8th grade football. You guys step in here if I forgot anyone.

Danny may not tell you guys this, but he turned into one of Boys Ranches best Ball handlers after he got into High School Football. And the boy was one of the best singers at the ranch that I ever heard. Danny , do you still sing? If not you should be. You had a great voice.

Good to hear from you Danny. The last time I talked to Mr. Rohers he said you were a youth councler down around Ft. Worth/Dallas area. Mr. Rohers was the game anouncer for home games, and the best commintary he ever said was, "That was Danny Fletcher, brought down by the entire Phillips team."
I still like High School sports the best.

What I liked best about sports, mainly Football was home comming games. You could invite your girl friend and one of the staff and a couple of wifes would pick them up in Amarillo and take them back after the dance.

Our home comming Queen was picked from the players girlfriends.

These pictures opened a flood gate.

Well we've all put a few pounds on, but that grin would be the same.
