If you are not already a paid CFBRAA member I want to encourage you to become one.
Our association is doing good things and helping out many with special needs and scholarships.
We aren't doing as much as we would like to do and not as much as one would expect, especially if you or someone you are close to are in need of financial help.
We are limited by the funds we have available, so what we can do is modest compared to the needs.

Here is what we were able to accomplish this year with less than 300 paid members:
1. Helped 15 families in crisis situations, providing medical help, housing, utilities, clothing, etc. You provided nearly $11K in crisis support to families.
2. Helped 9 alumni families send their children to college, providing $6K in scholarship assistance.
3. Helped scores of new alumni with transportation, providing $4K for vehicle maintenance and fuel for the Alumni Support Center.
4. Provided $500 to the residents of the Alumni Support Center to help with Christmas presents for their families.
5. Provided $500 to the homes at BR as awards for the Christmas Contest winners.

Thanks Lan. It is always good to see these old photos. It makes us all wish we had kept all of ours.

Thanks Lan, Looking at the photo of Jim Hill and Boot hill dorm, I see two black buildings to the right side of the photo. What were these building used for. They were not there in 62. I also see a white building in the back ground that looks like the old infirmary.

Great pictures Lan,

I have some from 55-60 stored away somewhere. I'm (IN PC) language
electronically illiterate, (IN NL-normal language) I'm a computer idiot.

I hope to find them in time for our California meeting in June at Gary Hardy's.

Keep these coming, especially any with the Farley's.

Thanks and have a great day and God Bless.

If you would like to get a copy of any of these pictures, you can click on the small picture and wait for the full size picture to come up and then right click on it and save it to your computer.

The two dark buildings west of Boot Hill were Dew Drop In. Where the early bed wetters lived. The next building was House of blue lights. These buildings were later converted to a Cement Ware House and a paint ware house. The white building you see to the right of those dark buildings is the east end of McCormick. The building between the two dark buildings is the Old Mess Hall, later turned into the "new" infirmary after I left in May of 1960. (for us old guys)
The building to the right of the Old Mess Hall is the north-east corner of the old gym.

The hill to the right of Jim Hill is where we used to get cardboard boxes and slide down on. I remember it having more brush on. It was covered except where the slide runs were.

We nailed tin on a latter and slid down that hill until someone got cut from the tin. There were a lot of round rocks where the want eroded a trail down the hill. I think we called it Devil's dare.

We called it "Butt Buster" or Butt Bruiser" The rocks had a tendency to be felt under the cardboard.

I remember Mrs. Smith stopped and slid down it with us. Her husband told her she was contributing to our misbehavior. I think he was mad because she was having fun
