If you are not already a paid CFBRAA member I want to encourage you to become one.
Our association is doing good things and helping out many with special needs and scholarships.
We aren't doing as much as we would like to do and not as much as one would expect, especially if you or someone you are close to are in need of financial help.
We are limited by the funds we have available, so what we can do is modest compared to the needs.

Here is what we were able to accomplish this year with less than 300 paid members:
1. Helped 15 families in crisis situations, providing medical help, housing, utilities, clothing, etc. You provided nearly $11K in crisis support to families.
2. Helped 9 alumni families send their children to college, providing $6K in scholarship assistance.
3. Helped scores of new alumni with transportation, providing $4K for vehicle maintenance and fuel for the Alumni Support Center.
4. Provided $500 to the residents of the Alumni Support Center to help with Christmas presents for their families.
5. Provided $500 to the homes at BR as awards for the Christmas Contest winners.

If I am correct (haven't been to good at guessing lately) I recognized the following,
Richard Dale, Duane Temple (little Man) and Stanley Lawley.
Danny do you have any idea where these guys are now.

Hey Norman,

In the third picture, Richard Dale is on either side of Ronny and Donny Wallen. Steve Stanley is the lower left and Fred Grantham on the right. I haven't heard of Richard since the summer of 61 when we were together for five days in Amarillo. I had heard he joined a "combining crew" that went from farm to farm, but that was in 61 also.

In the fourth picture, right to left, are me, Jim Holt (Jamie), Norris Johnson, and Tommy Walpole. Below that row are Jamie again, Duane Temple (Temp or Little man), and Stan Lawley (aka Sandman, Lollypop). After Sandman left the Rance, he found out his real name was Stanley Sandy and he moved to the northeast somewhere. Jamie is or was living in Tusla, Okla. after spending several years in California. Bruce (Norris) Johnson worked with Mr. Rohrs and me at Good Samaritan Boys Ranch in the late 60's but is or was a border patrol officer in Texas. I haven't heard of Temp since 61.

The pages I posted were from a album that my wife made up for a present to me several years ago ..... that's what's up with the strange combinations of characters. They were pasted in and I didn't want to mess them up by trying to take them out to put in a more logical order.

Have fun at the reunion. Danny

Danny
Thanks for the pictures. They opened a flood gate of memories. Well Done. I am trying to get a bunch of mine together. When I get them ready, I am going to send them to Lanny Bostwick. On his computer he has the ability to clean them up. The old pictures are a walk through Nostalgia.
I remember a fight between Norris Johnson and Jimmy Scott. Norris would not fight Jimmy until he took his glass eye out. Then Norris got the worst of it. but he never quit. The fight stopped because Mrs. Norman came into class. She looked around, knowing something was going on but no one said anything.
Thanks again Danny.
Take Care.
