If you are not already a paid CFBRAA member I want to encourage you to become one.
Our association is doing good things and helping out many with special needs and scholarships.
We aren't doing as much as we would like to do and not as much as one would expect, especially if you or someone you are close to are in need of financial help.
We are limited by the funds we have available, so what we can do is modest compared to the needs.

Here is what we were able to accomplish this year with less than 300 paid members:
1. Helped 15 families in crisis situations, providing medical help, housing, utilities, clothing, etc. You provided nearly $11K in crisis support to families.
2. Helped 9 alumni families send their children to college, providing $6K in scholarship assistance.
3. Helped scores of new alumni with transportation, providing $4K for vehicle maintenance and fuel for the Alumni Support Center.
4. Provided $500 to the residents of the Alumni Support Center to help with Christmas presents for their families.
5. Provided $500 to the homes at BR as awards for the Christmas Contest winners.

Hey guys this is great reading. I'm sitting in my office bored to death. Jerry I think I need to talk to you pretty soon. I'm going to retire from Federal Law Enforcement 12/31/2007. After 22 and half years it's a little scary to think about. One of the thinks I need to decide is whether I want to get out and stay out or come back as a FROG. I can come back at my pay grade and draw my pension or go to work in the private sector. An FBI friend of mine retired last year and is working in the oilfield now. He's have a great time. So I'm not sure what I'll do.

Jerry it's great to heard some of your war stories. A lot of people do not understand about getting meals or coffee comped. When I was in uniform I always went to the same coffee shop because the guy charged me the same as everyone else. If he ever changed then I would have changed coffee shops. We had another place that never charged us for coffee so we left the price of the coffee on the table as a tip. Well the owner gets picked up for DUI and the first thing out of his mouth was I took care of you guys and this is how you repay me. Just one of the problems with accepting any thing for free.

The reason I'm bored and sitting at my desk is because I can't open a new case and all my other cases are up to date. I'm not used to this.
