If you are not already a paid CFBRAA member I want to encourage you to become one.
Our association is doing good things and helping out many with special needs and scholarships.
We aren't doing as much as we would like to do and not as much as one would expect, especially if you or someone you are close to are in need of financial help.
We are limited by the funds we have available, so what we can do is modest compared to the needs.

Here is what we were able to accomplish this year with less than 300 paid members:
1. Helped 15 families in crisis situations, providing medical help, housing, utilities, clothing, etc. You provided nearly $11K in crisis support to families.
2. Helped 9 alumni families send their children to college, providing $6K in scholarship assistance.
3. Helped scores of new alumni with transportation, providing $4K for vehicle maintenance and fuel for the Alumni Support Center.
4. Provided $500 to the residents of the Alumni Support Center to help with Christmas presents for their families.
5. Provided $500 to the homes at BR as awards for the Christmas Contest winners.

Darn! I thought when I saw the post that there would be some current pix!

One of these days we'll all have wi-fi.

I just got off the phone from talking with Joe Thomas. Seems the only "Big Joe" "Little Joe" he knows about is that Dan got called "little Joe" when he arrived. Also, Joe was not in the courthouse as that was for the little guys back then. Now, maybe you are thinking of Tommy Alvarez as he was moved into Joe's room in Western Ave. when he turned nine. Is it possible that some of the guys called them "Big Joe" "Little Joe" because of that? I was always in Maynard so I probably never knew or it happened before I arrived in '59.

It was good to have a talk with Joe. I had forgotten, but I saw him in Ft. Worth when he was a recruiter. He was in Haltom City on Belknap street for several years, I learned of it and went to see him. After talking with him for a few minutes just now, I remembered that visit with him.

:D Hey, sassysign is back, really back!!! My husband and I are back at Cal Farley, have been since last Dec. We have seen 4 ex ranchers from 2003 during the different events throughout the year, ended up being alternates at Mize, Earl, and Anderson, occasionally at Romerci, Pierce and Henry (oh those 6am 3 day travelling days) We are now settled into Earl as Primarys and ohhh so busy...Thanksgiving is fastly coming and even then Christmas is actually two weeks away, as the boys will be heading home for two weeks, busy busy but great...

What was the deciding factor in coming back to BR? and how has it changed from your first time at the ranch?
Do the right thing. It will gratify some people and astonish the rest.
